The Easiest and Most Comfortable Shoes to Wear

posted on 5 February 2012

If you are like me the thought of buying a new pair of shoes is not a thrilling prospect. Even buying my son some boys snow boots gave me a kind of vicarious thrill that shoe-buying gives me. All my life my new shoes torture my feet for a considerable "breaking in" period. A few years ago while on holiday in Australia I discovered a pair of shoes that brought an end to all my sore feet problems particularly during the summer months. Im still working on the winter months! Ok these life saving shoes are called Birkenstocks. I love them! No more sore sweaty feet. No more breaking in of sandals. They fit the shape of your foot and cushion all the right places. Bliss! The good news is that these shoes come in all sorts of colours and designs. Some have straps that go round your instep some have straps that your big toe fits into. The sole is made from cork and leather. The shoes themselves are made in Gemany and they last "forever". They may not seem very fashionable but for me they make up for all that in the comfort they provide. They are also a very good design for your foot.

Fancy That: I'm a Lover of Fancy Dress

posted on 5 February 2012

I'm quite a shy person in everyday life, but I've found an outlet for my introvert-extrovert personality - fancy dress. At a fancy dress party, I assume the personality of whoever I'm dressed up as. In a way, it's acting - and you've probably heard of several actors and actresses who are shy and introverted in real life, but can assume the role of almost anyone on the stage. Before a party, I'll run through a number of fancy dress ideas before settling on one. I never go for the usual ones - the vamp "chick", the nun etc. I go for specific individuals - normally famous people. I always love it when people look at me and their faces either show a puzzled look, or a big smile - they're either guessing, or have realised who I am! I love that it takes a bit of detective work sometimes for people to realise who I am dressed up as.
